Why should I take Synbiotic40B Gut-Brain Enhanced
Our dietary supplement, Synbiotic, as the name suggests, is a synbiotic – this means it contains a combination of lactic bacteria (probiotics) and fibre (prebiotics) for your stomach. The fibre functions as food for the good bacteria so they feel good. Synbiotic contains living bacteria so it needs to be kept chilled! Synbiotic Supplements are available in three different variants – Synbiotic15 Daily, Synbiotic40 Enhanced and Synbiotic Gut-Brain. Read more about our synbiotics here.
To support the intestinal flora, various types of dietary supplements can be added. One common dietary supplement for intestinal flora is probiotics. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines probiotics as ’live microorganisms which, when administered in adequate amounts, confer a beneficial health effect’. However, most of us recognise probiotics as lactic acid bacteria or a dietary supplement for the stomach. Prebiotics are a type of dietary fibre that occurs naturally in certain foods, such as raw root vegetables, blueberries and oats. Fibre plays an important role in the diet because it helps maintain normal bowel function. Dietary fibre acts ingeniously as food for the good bacteria, helping them thrive and reproduce in the gut.
In addition to probiotics and prebiotics, there are also synbiotics, which can be described as combining the best of both. Where probiotics only contain lactic acid bacteria, synbiotics contain a combination of lactic acid bacteria and dietary fibre. The result is that these supplements contain both the good bacteria and the fibres that they benefit from. The fibres act as a ’packed lunch’ for the bacteria on their way down to the intestines. Once in place, they provide the bacteria with food so that they can multiply. The advantage of synbiotics is that the dietary fibre helps the lactic acid bacteria multiply in the intestine, as well as facilitating the journey down the intestine. And dietary fibre is also generally good for the intestinal flora. According to the Swedish Food Agency, adults need 25–35 grams of fibre per day, but on average we get significantly less. It’s grounded in our own research – and developed through active research
Something unique to us is the research behind the products. Back in 1999, a group of researchers led by Professor Stig Bengmark began searching for the elite among anti-inflammatory lactic acid bacteria. They collected and studied over 500 different lactic acid bacteria, before selecting the absolute most effective anti-inflammatory bacterial strains they could find. These bacterial strains were combined with four types of dietary fibre, which help the bacteria grow and multiply. We also have ongoing studies with lactic acid bacteria to develop our products and find new usage areas.
Synbiotics instead of Probiotics
Adding dietary fibre to lactic acid bacteria is an advanced and time-consuming process in product development. But given the benefits of dietary fibre, it’s important for us to have it in our products. The high content of the four types of dietary fibre, which are specially selected to match our bacterial strains, is something unique to Synbiotic and an important reason why our product works as well as it does.
Unique and patented
It’s common for over-the-counter dietary supplements with lactic acid bacteria to contain the same strains of bacteria. In some cases, you can find the same bacteria in different products, albeit at completely different prices. The combination of bacterial strains in Synbiotic was developed after many years of research. They’re patented and completely unique and cannot be found in any other dietary supplement.
Synbiotic can be used by adults, pregnant women, nursing mothers, and healthy children. Pay attention to how your child reacts and reduce the dosage if there are any side effects. For breastfed infants, Synbiotic15 Daily can be mixed with a little water and applied to your nipple or their pacifier (not recommended for premature babies). Children diagnosed with NPF can benefit from taking Synbiotic.
Recommended daily intake (Synbiotic15 Daily, Synbiotic40 Enhanced and Synbiotic40B Gut-Brain)
– Children 4-10 years old; 1/4- 1/2 dose pack per day.
– Children from 11 years onward; 1/2-1 dose pack per day
Pay attention to how your child reacts and reduce the dosage if there are any side effects.
The bacterial strains used in Synbiotic have been shown in studies to have very good resistance to bile acid and low pH value. The bacteria thus have a good ability to survive and colonize in the intestine.
Synbiotic 2000 is a scientific preparation developed by Professor Stig Bengmark, who is also the founder of SuperSynbiotics. Synbiotic 2000 has been used in a large number of studies over the past 25 years. Synbiotic dietary supplements contain the same composition of lactic acid bacteria and dietary fibre as Synbiotic 2000 but in a lower dose. Synbiotic 2000 is not available for purchase and is used for research purposes only.
